【Premium Experience Heart of KYOTO】
Experience Kyoto, the Thousand-Year Capital, in Takagamine – A Japanese Instruments Performance

Concept

Participants will visit Josho-ji Temple in Takagamine, the area where Kyoto's art and culture originated, to experience the aesthetic sense of miyabi (“elegance”) cultivated over the centuries in Kyoto.
The program offers a fusion of Kyoto's history and modern music culture, with a new and unconventional Japanese instruments performance featuring koto, dragon flute, dance (Kagura dance and Nihon Buyo), and shakuhachi.
Participants will also enjoy a guided tour of the temple grounds and tea service in a premium experience that engages all five senses.

Main Activities

1. Walk around Josho-ji Temple following the footsteps of Yoshino Tayu, a renowned 17th century geisha from Shimabara, Kyoto who died at the temple (guide provided)
2. Tea ceremony by Urasenke (may be held outdoors if weather permits)
3. A prayer ceremony conducted by the temple priest in the main hall
4. Japanese instruments performance
